It's a girl!

All right. I know everyone thought I died or something. But I've just been pregnant. I guess I just took that first pregnancy test too early. I've been sick & exhausted since day 1. I even had a scare & got put on bedrest for a while. Now I have to follow up with my regular OB & a high-risk OB...but the good news is that baby looks good & according to all tests/labs I do too. I am 21 weeks and it's a girl! She's due April 26th.

I've been feeling nauseated and exhausted lately. So, I took a pregnancy test. Neggo preggo eggo.
I wonder what's up. And I hope I feel better soon.

Who does that?!

I don't understand not locking the door to a public restroom. I walked in on someone because she didn't lock the door. Gross. I didn't want to see that. You didn't want me to see that. The lock worked. It was a full door, so I couldn't see feet & it was shut. It makes no sense. The worst part is that we work together sometimes ...Every time I see her now all I can think of is her sitting there, pants at her ankles. Yikes!

DC pics

In June I went to DC for 9 days. It was fun. I gained a lot of information that I can implement to excel in my new job. And I learned that I never want to be away from my family for that long again. I'm sure if I had to be strong & suck it up & do it I could...but I don't want to! My 3 boys are so much fun! They're my best friends! And DC was really fun, it just could've been even better.

I stayed at Gaylord National Hotel on National Harbor (Potomac). So I had to trek into the city. I went by bus, taxi, and river boat. By boat was slower but much more fun. I'll post a few pics of National Harbor, my hotel, and from the river boat...Everyone knows what the DC landmarks look like already.

And I did go to THE coolest party ever at the Smithsonian Natural History Museum. It was at night after hours, everyone dressed up, with drinks, waiters, hour douvres, more drinks, more waiters, desserts, more drinks...everywhere. There was great live music, great lighting, and did I mention great food & drinks. And all the exhibits were open. So I sipped on my bloody mary as I viewed 40 million year old dinosaur bones with friends and snacked on fruit and cheesecake as I viewed the Hope diamond. I don't get to do stuff like that everyday here in Lubbock! But I didn't have my camera. Another nurse I met on the trip said she'd email me her pics from the party. Hopefully I'll get them soon.

May 2008

Since I was a slacker I will summarize May in pictures...Hopefully I will get a chance to post other months soon.
May 2008 was great! We celebrated Cinco de Mayo, went to a Rangers V Astros game, cruised Joe Pool Lake, went fishing, camped out, hung out with Uncle Darrell, went to the Fort Worth Zoo, had Ethan's preschool graduation, and enjoyed other warm weather stuff like washing our Jeep. So fun!

I'm hungry

It's 11:15am. I am starving! This "Go Greens" supplement I added to my bottle of Dasani for breakfast is not cutting it. (By the way, good flavor but it settles and I don't like drinking grit). I am craving Chinese or Mexican. Honestly, food just sounds good. But I am stuck in my office without a car (ours is at the repair shop getting $4k worth of hail damage fixed). Poor me...

Hiatus ends

My blogging hiatus is over. I have returned, and I will try to do better.

So, what is going on....I have a new job as Coordniator/Nurse Specialist for Weight Loss Surgery patients. I love it! John is still working hard & taking courses for his Masters in Mental Health Counseling. He'll have his first week long clinical in DFW in August. Ethan will start kindergarten in August. Nolan turns 4 in a few weeks. We are all good. No major changes.

This week is Nana Camp. So everyone is having fun with family. We will hopefully go to the library today to see some exotic animals from Walter's World of Pets, eat dinner together, and go to the pool. It's been a really fun week - I hate that I have to work & miss out of the fun the kids are having. But it's been GREAT to see everyone! I'll try to post pics soon.

Last weekend everyone went to the mountains to work & play and I spent 9 days in DC for a work conference. I'll try to post pics from those events, too.
