I'm loving it!

Tonight the boys & I went to eat & play at McDonald's. It was Nolan's idea, and it was just what we needed. They were cheap dates because Thursday night the special is $1.50 hamburger kid's meals. And they had lots of fun playing & making new friends. Plus, it gave John time to submit some of his work for class this week (He is in grad school w/ mostly internet based classes to get his Masters in Mental Health Counseling). I have such a great life!

Dinnertime prayer

Nolan said the prayer at dinner last night...

"Thank you God for our food, and for our Ethan, and for our Mommy, and our Daddy, and our Nolan. Amen."

We were holding hands & he lifted his hands to point to each of us as he said our names. It was so cute.

Another update

Sorry that I've been away so long.
Since the last entry was an update on our health & everything has changed since then, I will give another update...
Nolan's ear healed. He is happy & healthy.
Ethan's surgery went well. He had a rough first week after surgery, but things have only improved since then. And no more infections! Yippee! He actually enjoys getting cotton balls in his ears before he bathes.
John's shoulder improved with physical therapy. He did not require surgical intervantion. And he feels good.
I am improving some. I was told I had Celiac Disease based on the biopsies that were removed during my EGD. But after further testing we finally found out that I do not have that either. It is still not clear what is causing my issues. All my labs have been normal, but my small intestines showed changes in texture which can be caused by many things. When I find out what is wrong & what can be done I will let you know.

Update RE: Everybody is sick

Things are going better. And we hope & believe that each day will be better than the last.
I will have a EGD and C-scope next Tuesday to (hopefully) figure out what is causing my symptoms.
John is in week 2 of a 4-week physical therapy course. We hope it will strengthen his shoulder. If it is unsuccessful he will have surgery. His follow-up appointment is in 2 weeks.
Ethan is having his tonsils & adenoids removed and ear tubes placed next Thursday. I'll be home with him through the following Tuesday.
Nolan's ear is healing, but the hole has not closed completely. We had an appintment yesterday and will follow-up again next month. If it does not heal by April he will most likely need to have surgery to have a patch placed over the hole to aid in healing.

Good morning!

Ethan helps Mommy make his favorite breakfast - a whole wheat bagel with peanut butter & marshmallows...

While Nolan snoozes!

MWF

Maples Wrestling Federation!

It all begins with the element of surpirse...

Our new car

We ditched the minivan for a 2006 Nissan Altima (with 18K miles)! I am loving it, but Nolan says he liked the van better.
